Since graduating from high school, I have always been passionate about working with young children. My journey began through teaching swimming lessons and assisting in water therapy for children with special needs. Later, volunteering at Yayasan Chow Kit and Kampung Orang Asli deepened my dedication to supporting underprivileged and marginalised children. These experiences inspired me to pursue a Degree in Early Childhood Education and a Master’s in Educational Leadership and Management.

As an Early Childhood educator, I believe education is a gentle act of service to humanity; nurturing compassion, reverence, and hope in the next generation. In a time when the world often rushes, I strive to uphold warmth, connection, and mindful care, where each child can grow with trust, wonder, and purpose.

I was inspired by my Malay language teacher whom I deeply admired during my primary school years. It was not his academic lessons that touched me the most, but the firmness, love, and care he showed towards his students, including me. These qualities had become the guiding principles I practise in my teaching journey. Working with young children has brought me into their dreamy and imaginative world, where every moment feels alive and full of wonder. Witnessing their growth and transformation reminds me deeply of how precious and meaningful childhood truly is. And I knew Waldorf Education was what my heart had been searching for.

Before becoming a kindergarten teacher, I spent 12 years in corporate banking and risk management, drawing on my studies in economics and finance, including an MSc from Warwick University on a full scholarship and a first-class honours degree from Chulalongkorn University. Though the work was fulfilling in its own way, I found my true calling in education. My journey into Waldorf education began in 2017 when I was searching for a meaningful education for my daughter. We began exploring it together at home, and what started as a parent’s curiosity soon became a lifelong path.

In 2020, I joined the Outdoor Classroom training at the Melbourne Rudolf Steiner Seminar, which deepened my appreciation for how nature and rhythm nurture a child’s growth. Since then, I have continued to grow through various trainings, including Early Childhood Education, and am now completing the Malaysia Waldorf Learning Support Teacher Training. As a kindergarten class lead, I am here to provide support for the young child because I believe early childhood is the foundation for life, and it matters deeply that this foundation is built with care, love, and reverence.

From a young age, I knew that I loved caring for young children, finding joy in their infectious love for all that life has to offer. After graduating with a Bachelor in Psychological Science, I was lucky enough to find my dream job, working as a Waldorf kindergarten teacher. Now halfway through Early Childhood training, I am excited for my new journey ahead, teaching at Samara Tualang School. I also realised early on that I have just as much, if not more, to learn from the children I encounter as they do from me, and I hope that I can continue caring for and learning from them for many years to come.

I love seeing the world through the clear and curious eyes of children—it reminds me of life, love, and wonder.

With a strong belief in community and meaningful daily rhythms, I chose Waldorf education for both myself and my daughter. Teaching is a journey of mutual discovery and gentle guidance, sharing in my daughter’s daily learning while supporting all children in my care.

Trained in Early Childhood Education and with a background in journalism, I spent a decade in Montessori classrooms, arts programs, and Waldorf settings in Russia, China, and Malaysia. I also teach swimming to young children in Kuala Lumpur.

Passionate about hand embroidery, I bring creativity and calm into my teaching. I would like to create a warm, respectful environment where children can explore, play, and engage in daily activities, feeling safe, seen, and supported.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacology from the University of Melbourne and have been working as an early childhood educator for almost a year. I began my journey into Waldorf education through an online course with the Melbourne Rudolf Steiner Foundation and am now continuing my studies in the Early Childhood Steiner Course.

I bring my love for movement and wellness — particularly Pilates — weaving it into a lively, yet grounded presence in the classroom. My hope is to give the children beautiful memories of their school and friends, while helping them build confidence and nurture kindness, so they grow ready to meet the world with open hearts.

Born into a family with three generations of educators and a TCM doctor, I always felt a natural affinity with children. Working with them has been a mutual journey of healing, and I see in them the brighter side of humanity. I feel called to guard and nurture them, guided by the gifts I have been given: courage, a sense of justice, and a heartfelt striving for truth, beauty, and kindness, enriched by the maturity and steadiness gained through life experience.

Though I sometimes struggle to balance empathy with antipathy, I carry in my mind the image of the warm, loving light I hope to preserve—from the older generations of Waldorf educators, or from any soul wise enough to illuminate the world. I truly believe that my purpose in this life is to uplift the collective human spirit through love, and that the children will carry this mission forward into the future.
