"Not the autocracy of a single stubborn melody on the one hand, nor the anarchy of the unchecked noise of the other. No, a delicate balance between the two; an enlightened freedom. The science of my art. The harmony of the stars in the heavens, the yearning for brotherhood in the human heart. This is the secret of my music."
- Johann Sebastian Bach

“If you want Malaysia to be a better place, invest your time or money in private education.” These words, heard in a talk a decade ago, became a seed of destiny. It grew into a calling I could no longer ignore, leading me to leave behind what seemed like a higher-flying CEO career and devote myself fully to education.
Having thrived within the most conventional markers of academic success — including an education at the University of Cambridge — I might have been expected to place my faith in the very system that had worked so well for me. Yet it was precisely from within that experience that another question arose: is success the same as education?
When I encountered Waldorf education, something in me recognised it not as an alternative, but as a future — even though it is more than a hundred years old. Its depth, humanity, and trust in the becoming of the child spoke to what I felt was missing in modern schooling. From that moment, I knew this was a path with no turning back.
Although I had once envisioned myself as a teacher, life often placed me in roles of stewardship instead. In hindsight, perhaps my task is to help hold the space — the school — through which true education can unfold.
I hope to dedicate the years ahead to understanding what it truly means to build a threefold community, to practise collaborative, service-based leadership, and to cultivate not-for-profit governance. I am fortunate to have been nourished by the love and trust of my family and my teachers. From that place of deep gratitude, I wish to give back — to serve something larger than myself, and to walk this path together with kindred souls.

As a qualified accountant and a graduate of the University of Malaya, with professional experience across Big Four firms, multinational corporations, public listed companies, and a renowned retail chain, my working life has been shaped by constant change. I have often found myself at the heart of major system implementations and organisational transformations. Through these experiences, I learned to value not only the technical management of change, but also the profound importance of the human element within it.
“Serving Others” has always been my core belief. So when Charmaine approached me to help in a school, I agreed without hesitation, though I had little idea of the journey that lay ahead. The challenges along this path have, at times, been daunting—inviting reflection on both our capacity and our responsibility. Yet my professional experience has consistently affirmed that a clear and greater purpose—one rooted in service and community—can act as a steady compass through difficulty, allowing the path to unfold as it should.
May our collective efforts provide fertile ground where each child can blossom—guided by compassion, strengthened by virtue, and illuminated by knowledge.

I’ve been part of the Waldorf community for the past five years. From the moment I stepped into this space, I was deeply inspired—not only by the warmth and openness of the people but also by the profound wisdom of Rudolf Steiner’s philosophy.
Since then, my family and I have grown within this nurturing environment, guided by its core values of reverence, rhythm, and holistic development. As we continue along this path, I carry a quiet hope: that one day, I might offer the same support and insight to others that we’ve been fortunate to receive—to witness and honor another family’s growth with clarity, care, and compassion.

At 46, after working in several banks and truly loving the world of service and engagement, I suddenly found myself facing health issues. I realized it was my body telling me it was time to get some rest. After a few months, I had fully recovered, but when I returned to my 9-to-5 job, I began to see the world differently. It was time to leave the banking world entirely and start a new life chapter. Joining a Waldorf school, where my children were already attending, felt like a natural step. Learning all about school operations and the principles of Waldorf education transformed our family lifestyle as well. Life became simpler, more meaningful, and I truly love this new life.
As my children transition to a different stage, having completed their Waldorf journey, I continue to see the richness and beauty of this curriculum. I now find great joy in sharing this meaningful education with others and work together in the STS team to create this journey for the children. For me, it’s not just about the curriculum; it’s also about the people! Seeing everyone come together to create this wonderful space for children truly warms my heart.

Becoming a mother brought me into this community, and my life experiences have guided me toward this role. I’m here because I believe in what we are doing — creating a place where children and all of us can grow and flourish together.

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach him how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime’ , As an avid angler and as a father, this is an adage I stay steadfast to. After years of chiseling away in a corporate ecosystem, to be a small part in contributing to the functional needs of the school’s tangible facilities is a healthy change of scenery.

It all started when I was 8. My father gave me a camera and told me to really see the world—that advice became my compass. That spirit of keen observation took me traveling for more than a decade, soaking up human stories everywhere. Now, with my wife working in education, I found my interest in observing the development of human beings. I'm here to put my heart (and my lens) into something meaningful and beautiful: to capture precious little moments happening here and share them with everyone.
